OK, so I've been a little late posting...
Jasmin Holmes and I, Devon Corker, have made a long-distance work out pact. We have vowed to lose weight by June. I've been running about 3 miles every day for the last 3 weeks with only about 3 rest days total. I've been mixing in a bit of soccer and body weight exercises for good measure. I'd like to start weight lifting again but I'm going to wait until I trim down. As for Ms. Holmes, she is has been doing a medley of workouts that include the use of the Nintendo Wii video game system and weight machine. We have both been doing a bit of yoga which is great for oxygenating the body and limbering muscles. Jasmin's been feeling a bit under the weather lately but is turning the corner with her ailment so we'll see her kickin' it at full efficiency soon enough! Good luck to us and hear from us again very soon!

Sick
I've been sick all week, and have not really been able to work out, due to lack of energy. Before I got sick, I worked out at the gym, doing weight training and some other machines. I have been bad about eating. I've been eating soup a lot, and drinking tea. I can't wait to get better, to be able to work out without anything being in the way. I lost out on a week of working out, and I feel bad, but I need to focus on getting better, then going back to my routine.
It's been a rough time, and because of being sick, I've felt unmotivated.

Baby Steps
So, today I felt and got really sick so I didn't get the chance to go to the gym for my intended weight training, but I still intend on using the Wii Fit tonight for a couple light exercises. My shoulder and my stomach were bothering me today, so I might take it easy.
Classes went well, but because I was sick, I almost slept through my class, luckily I made it on time. I've only eaten one 4-point Smart One meal, and it was a thick linguine with broccoli. For dinner I will eat another Smart One and maybe a yogurt and a tangerine or orange.
I missed breakfast this morning, due to being sick, so tomorrow I hope to be well enough to make and eat breakfast. I work tomorrow night, so I will work out afterwards. Next week I will go to the gym and do my weight training 2 times per week, along with Wii Fit every night, besides sundays. Sundays will be my off days.

One Step Ahead
Today was a good day for working out. I burned 266 calories through Wii Fit exercises. For lunch I ate a 4-inch subway roast beef sandwich with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, banana peppers and mustard. Then for dinner I ate a 4-point Smart One meal, that was turkey breast and mashed potatoes. I also ate 2 small "dwarf" yogurts, equalling the calories of one large yogurt. Afterwards I did my workout.
Tomorrow I plan on working out at the gym, doing crucial weight training, then in the evening doing Wii Fit exercises.
I intend on eating breakfast every morning, without skipping it. I went grocery shopping and bought a bunch of fruits: Strawberries, grapes, oranges, tangerines, blueberries and raspberries. I also bought a few more Smart One meals. They are all within 4-7 weight watcher points. According to Weight Watchers, I am allowed 23 points per day, with 35 per week to spare. As long as I follow good eating habits, no skipping meals, no eating past 9:30pm, and working out, the 30lbs should be shaved off by summer.
I am excited for the motivation and the working out that will help me exceed my goal!

One Day at a Time
On New Years Day 2010, Devon and I decided that we would lose 30 pounds by summertime, and record our workouts and food intake each day. With both of us motivating each other from different states, we are determined to meet and exceed our goal by June.
So far, I have done 3 full days of snowboarding, and some Wii Fit Plus exercises. January 3rd I used my Wii Fit and burned 205 calories. January 5th, 6th and 8th, I snowboarded about 8 hours each day. Today, I did more exercises on Wii Fit and burned 197 calories.
To help lose weight, I have started portion control by eating less in general, and eating Smart One meals and Green Giant one serving veggie packages. I also integrated much more fruit into my daily food intake, versus snacks. Instead of snacking on chocolate, ice cream, and whatever else, I have been snacking on yogurt, oranges, apples and bananas. I have already started noticing a difference in my energy level and tightening throughout my body. The snowboarding had a lot to do with that, and helped jump start my weight loss.
I was a bit bad today, I ate some KFC chicken and potato wedges, but I will no longer eat out anymore. I already changed over from regular soda to diet, except I do enjoy regular Mountain Dew on occasion, but I intend on decreasing the amount of soda I drink. I have also made it a point not to eat past 9:30PM, which has helped tremendously. I think that this was my problem to begin with. Keeping control of eating during certain times throughout the day will help to keep my body energized when needed and rested when the evening comes.
The best motivation is the fact that my friend is working to lose weight with me. Regardless of Devon being states away, I know he will motivate me when I do not feel like working out. We are both working to exceed expectations and become healthier people, by working out and eating right.
The goal is to improve not only our bodies but our minds as well.
